M4B vs MP3 Audiobook Files
The M4B audiobook format (.m4b) provides the smoothest and most convenient listening experience with features like chapter navigation and playback position memory. It is compatible with most major audiobook apps, including Apple Books, Smart Audiobook Player, and Bookmobile. A quick online search should provide the info you need to import our M4B audiobooks into your preferred app, and we include instructions with every download. There are also several free audiobook players available, with Smart Audiobook Player for Android and BookPlayer for iOS being our top free recommendations.
The MP3 audiobook format (.mp3) is the most widely compatible and accessible format, playable on virtually any device without the need for special apps. MP3 files can be listened to using built-in media players on smartphones, tablets, and computers, as well as through apps like Smart Audiobook Player, VLC, and Apple Books. However, unlike M4B files, MP3 audiobooks do not support built-in chapter navigation or automatic bookmarking, so the listening experience may require manual tracking of progress. A quick online search should provide the steps to import our MP3 audiobooks into your preferred player, and we include instructions with every download.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Audible does not allow the importing of 3rd party M4B or MP3 files into their audiobook player. You must use an alternative audiobook app or music player for our releases if you are an Audible subscriber.
Text and PDF instructions for opening our audiobooks in your player of choice are included with every download, or you can find them at “How-To” at the top of this page.
